For most people, driving is definitely the best and easiest way. Well, driving visitors to the Walt Disney World are strongly recommended to be well equipped with information about both on-site and off-site parking facilities, in addition to exact driving directions.

Disney World does offer spacious parking garages & lots with sufficient parking spaces for any driving visitors to every theme park. Although the Disney World is kind of too large and chances are visitors might get lost within the park, it is not difficult at all for you to find a parking facility upon your arrival.

All parking areas in Disney World are clearly marked and there are plenty of signs to lead you to the nearest parking lot when visiting any theme park or attraction. Besides, each of the parking facilities is located outside the main entrance of the theme park, with the exception of the Magic Kingdom. The parking structure at the Magic Kingdom is placed at the Ticket and Transportation Center.

Mickey & Friends Parking: On the west side of Disney World Resort, you can find the largest parking structure inside the park - the Mickey & Friends Parking. This giant parking garage has its main entrance placed at the intersection of Disney Drive and Ball Road.

It always opens about 1 hour before the scheduled opening time of Disneyland Park. Oversized vehicles are only allowed to get into this garage through the main entrance and the height limit is 13′10″.

Open-air Parking Lot: Just north of the Mickey & Friends Parking, the Disney World offers an Open-air Parking Lot. It sits at Disneyland Drive and Magic Way. Normally this parking lot is only available for individuals who work for the Disneyland Park. But, at times, oversized vehicles are also allowed to park in this area.

Pinocchio & Friends Parking Lot: This is an outdoor parking lot situated on the south of Mickey & Friends Parking, very close to Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel. The Pinocchio & Friends Parking Lot serves RVs, buses and other oversized vehicles. Besides, it gives room for SUVs as well as mini vans and camper vans. Yet, motor homes are not allowed to park in this parking lot.

Parking Spaces for Disabled Visitors: The first aisle of the Pinocchio & Friends Parking Lot is prepared for visitors with disabilities. Additionally, handicapped parking is available at the first row of the Open-air Parking Lot.

Free parking at any parking structures inside the Disney World Resort is only available for Annual Pass holders and all the guests staying on-site. For other driving visitors, parking fee varies by vehicle types and parking hours. Generally, parking at the Downtown Disney within three hours is free. Thereafter it would cost you 2 dollars per 20 minutes. There is no extra parking fee for oversized vehicle unless it takes more than one parking space.

Driving visitors can also choose to pay for their parking once-per-day. And then, on that given day, they can use any parking facilities located throughout the Disney World Resort as frequently as they like without any additional charge. The daily parking rates for different vehicles are listed below:

Valet parking is available at the Walt Disney World Resort as well. You can easily find the Downtown Disney Valet Parking at the intersection of Magic Way and Downtown Drive. Valet parking service would be charged 12 dollars per day. But, visitors with a handicapped placard are entitled to enjoy this service free of charge.

The operation hours of the Downtown Disney Valet Parking are from 9:30 am to 2 pm on Sundays. From Monday through Saturday, it would open at as early as 5 am and does not close until 2 pm.

NOTE: When parking at the Disney World, there are a series of things you really need to pay close attention to.

- Overnight parking at any in-site parking facilities is never permitted for visitors, excluding hotel guests.

- Your parking pass to any Disney Resort is time-limited. And once your time elapses, your vehicle might be towed at your risks.

- If possible, you'd better write down where you vehicle is parked. As parking areas of Disney World is really huge and there are always hundreds of vehicles parked in the same facility, it would be a tough task to find out your own car among a sea of cars.
