Disney's Typhoon Lagoon

Disney Typhoon Lagoon is a water park at the Disney World which was thrown open to visitors in 1989.

'Mayday', the 100′ Mount forms the centerpiece of this park which has two speed slides, four twisting body slides and also 3 tube slides. Locating this is rendered easier with Ms.Tilly, which is a shrimp boat perched atop the mountain.

Disney Typhoon Lagoon, the theme park under the 100′ artificial mountain is in an expanse of 2.5 acre lagoon with white beaches surrounding it. The lush green vegetation provides adequate weather, just in case the weather turns a bit warm.

Typhoon Lagoon Surf pool, Humunga Kowabunga, Storm slides, Gang Plank Falls, Keelhaul Falls, Mayday Falls, and Shark Reef are some of the other Orlando FL travel attractions which will keep you engaged at the Disney Typhoon Lagoon. Other thoughtful provisions for visitors include a shopping outlet for Beachwear, Sundries and Gifts.

Lockers are provided to store away your belongings with the larger ones charged at $7 and the smaller variant at $5. The key to the locker carries a refundable fee at $2.0. Make sure to be careful with the key not only to claim the fee back, but also avoid possible inconvenience if you lose the key.

Some people tend to forget their towel and even this has been carefully accounted for - simply borrow one for a dollar each. You cannot carry life vests or other devices to float around inside the park - but nothing to worry because Orlando travel visitors can get one for free.

No need to go hungry till you get out of Disney Typhoon Lagoon, just head for Typhoon Tilly's or Leaning Palms, or Lowtide Lou's Snacks. Medical attention, just in case you need is also provided at the First Aid Station near the Snack bar Leaning Palms.

Now we come to some of the rules visitors are required to follow while at the Disney Typhoon Lagoon.

Swimwear with exposed metal cannot be worn when you are within the park. Children under 10 years of age should be accompanied by adults at all times. The park is generally open from 10 am to 5 pm, but the timings may change depending on weather conditions.

If the park is closed suddenly for any reason, no refunds are made. Tickets to the Disney Typhoon Lagoon do not entitle entry into other water parks at the Disney World. And, finally, the park is closed for maintenance and repairs for a month every year.
