Weather Info
Orlando has a sub tropical climate, and therefore Orlando weather often tends to be humid and warm.
The two prominent phases of Orlando weather are a hot summer season and a cool winter season. Average temperatures during summer reaches the nineties with the night temperature dropping to the eighties or sometimes even the seventies. It is not uncommon to have a heat index in excess of hundred during the summer season.
Summer is also the time when Florida receives its rains. Air from the Gulf and that from the Atlantic collide over central Florida. The collision often gives rise to storms which can at times be even termed violent. The storms can also be accompanied by thunder, lightening, wind and hail. The number of lightening strikes that Orlando receives year after year is among the highest for any American city.
Orlando weather during June to September is interspersed with storms and rains. The average rainfall may touch about fifty inches with the number going up in certain years. A strange phenomenon however is that the rains do not cool the temperature and humidity tends to go up further right after a thunderstorm.
Summer is again the time when Orlando weather has its quota of hurricanes though officially the hurricane season runs from June to November. Orlando being away from the coast, the city mostly escapes the brunt of landfall resulting from the storm.
During winter however, there is no significant rainfall with most days being sunny and dry. Orlando weather during winter therefore is beautiful indeed. Orlando travel tourists too prefer this season to escape freezing temperatures in other parts of the country.
Enjoy your trip & have fun!
